The MiniCat 310 is a boat that combines premium and lightweight materials that make it easy to carry on land and fast and efficient on the water. The 310 is the perfect boat for an adult or youngster to sail solo for a fun day on the water!
Windowed Sails
The jib and main sails on the MiniCat boats all have windows in them. This allows you to be more aware of your surroundings.
Even with the colorful sails, sometimes other boaters are not paying attention. These windows allow you to see 360° and be responsive to your surroundings.
Continuous Line Roller Furling Jib
Your MiniCat 310 models is equipped with a continuous line roller furler. This allows you to put away the jib sail, on either tack without any worry or possibility of a snag, clog, or line override that the single-line furlers are notorious for.
You can also store your jib furled (folded in half) to make boat set-up and take-down quicker and easier.
Fully Battened Square-top Mainsail
The square-top mainsail provides this beachcat with more than enough power to have a fun day on the water. Fully battened for superior sail shape, even in light winds.
The 310 can easily reach speeds up to 10 knots and some have even pushed their boat faster than 12 knots!
Powder Coated Lightweight Frame
MiniCats are built with lightweight aluminum frames that have been powder coated using techniques that are time tested and durable.
The rugged, long-lasting frame uses the lightweight and durable materials for both transport ease and sailing performance.
Small Pack-down for Easy Storage and Transport
The MiniCat 310 packs away into just ome easy-to-manage bag.
The boat is mostly pre-assembled in the bag, simply unroll, inflate, step the mast and go sailing!
These bags can be stored under your bed, in a closet or checked as luggage on an airplane. Call your airline for a quote on oversized luggage fees, they can vary by airline.
Optional wheeled storage bags are easy to transport and move around without heavy lifting.
Ergonomic Trampoline
The MiniCat 310 has a feature rich trampoline, complete with
-Plenty of places to hold on with reinforced handles in each corner.
-There are pockets for the halyards and even a place to clip drybags in a snag free pouch.
-There is a hiking strap long enough for at least 2 pairs of feet and bungee lacing at the base of the mast for stowing larger gear.
-There are also diagonal webbed straps sewn on the trampoline to provide extra grip.
Low Aspect Ratio Keels
The MiniCat 310 is equipped with long shallow keels under each hull which contribute to the MiniCat’s ease of use and great sailing characteristics.
The keels allow the 310 to be sailed in extremely shallow waters.
Only fly a hull when you want; the keels resist the rotation of the hulls making this boat harder to capsize than other beach cats!
The keels are set aft of the mast, which allows the 310 to tack much quicker than other hard hulled catamarans.
Heytex 5509 PVC
All MiniCats, including the MiniCat 420, have hulls made in Germany with Heytex 5509 PVC. This is top shelf PVC and has a longer life expectancy than typical boat PVC.
This boat fabric is no different than other PVC with regards to repair. It is easily repairable by an amateur, so no more expensive boat yard repair bills!

I bought my 310 last year, and couldn't wait for it to arrive...only to get too busy to try it out. Just took it on Lake Conroe for its maiden voyage. What a BLAST! Even with light winds, she was easy to manuever, from launch off a dock, to docking at the end. The cam lock on the rudder snapped open early on, and being a newbie, I just tied it off lightly. Found that this part needs to be locked with a screwdriver. Otherwise, a flawless trip. I can't wait to get back out there on a windier day. Assembly was easy, although being new to sailing, it took me a little longer the first time. I was impressed with the build quality, materials, and fit. It looks great on the water, too! I'm very happy with my purchase, and look forward to years of sailing fun and travel.

I bought my 310 from a Red Beard customer that wanted to get a Guppy also from Red Beard. I've had it out five times now, it's now second nature to set up. The first time took an hour, second at least 40 minutes, but now I've got it down to a half hour. The tear-down is very fast, 20 minutes tops. I don't bother squishing the pontoons into the carry bag. I put everything else in the carry bag, and just set the deflated pontoons in the back of the car.
Sailing performance is adequate. I haven't had it up on one pontoon yet, I figure the trapeze would be needed anyway. I had my adult daughter come along on a sail on Lake Michigan recently. The boat performed well in 5knot wind. Lots of swells, and the boat could maintain a tack. The boat isn't good at all to windward, nor did I expect it to be. Navigating the river I launch in is tough, as would be any dual-hull boat.
I'm really happy to have a boat that I don't have to deal with a trailer and that I can launch about anywhere, this is doubly so since I don't pack the entire boat in the bag. Two or three trips from the car, I have enjoyed a small lake nearby, or I can launch from a beach rather than the river-access I spoke about having issues navigating above. (Wind always blowing up river).

I downsized from a larger boat to the Minicat 310 and love it. I've been able to enjoy local lakes and waterways whenever opportunity knocks and so I sail more now than before. Not having to manage a trailer or need a boat ramp to launch means I can drop it in anywhere. No longer need to park a trailer or store a boat outside. I slide it into our compact SUV to bring it along on camping trips and Ocean City whenever we go. Easy set up and thoughtful engineering (few loose parts and only one wingnut to have to keep track of). I was able to teach my daughter to sail on her own in the lakes around Columbia, Maryland.

In two packs you can take it as luggage on an intercontinental plane, and with all that it is still a sporty and exciting sailing boat. Being a Cat is also useful on a pond with shallow grounds. I have sailed in ponds and rivers and seas and in the small boat section there are none better than the 310. Fabulous. And thank you Redbeard for an excellent service.
